Cookies and storage

Last updated 19 October 2026

Kept Pay does not set tracking or advertising cookies. It keeps two small things in your browser so the site works the way you expect, described below.

What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies, local storage and the browser cache are places a website can keep small pieces of data on your device. They stay on your device and only the site that saved them can read them.

What we keep on your device

  • Your colour theme (dark or light), in local storage, until you clear it.
  • Copies of the calculator and compare pages, the app icon, and pages and files you have opened, in the browser cache. These let the site open quickly and work offline. They are replaced when we publish a new version.

Why there is no consent banner

UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) allows storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for without asking for consent. Remembering the theme you chose and keeping the pages you use available offline fall under that. Nothing we store is used to track you.

Our host

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that traffic comes from a person rather than an automated attack. We do not use it for anything else.

Clearing it

You can delete everything we keep from your browser settings, under site data or cookies. The calculator still works afterwards. It just forgets your theme and downloads pages again.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies or any other storage on your device.

If this changes

If we ever add advertising, we will update this page and ask for your permission before setting any cookies that need it. Questions to hello@keptpay.uk. Last updated 19 October 2026.
